Common Creatures & Foes
Here are recorded the creatures & beasts that are considered common in the lands of Mantica. They can be encountered in multiple lands and are often seen bearing regional differences and peculiarities, but despite this are still classified under single bestiary entries. Beware however, the use of the term common refers to the frequency they are encountered and does not lessen the danger & threat they pose.

Trolls & Troll-kin
Feral, hulking monstrosities of ill-temperament and savage ferocity, Trolls are come in many parts of Mantica though the come in many shapes and forms, some more common than others.
They are a sub-species of giant-kin, categorised by the loremasters as jötunn-fell, meaning "corrupt giants". Generally lesser in size then the true race of giants, Trolls are still tall and are more alike to ogre-size in height. They feature broad shoulders on a hunched frame, with long muscular arms with sinews & tendons alike rods of iron, ending in huge blocky hands - few can escape the clutches of a Troll when it has closed it's grip.

Their skin is a rough hide and they have little need of coverings or clothing. They are gifted with a natural tolerance to many climates and conditions, part of which is their ability to regenerate wounds given a generally sparse amount of recovery time. This makes a Trolls an enduring opponent and a particularly difficult creature to bring down, often requiring a pro-longed exchange to ensure it is truly dead.

The most populous are simply referred to as Common Trolls, if such a term can exist for a race as diverse as theirs, of which here is provided the vital statistics that our learned scribes have been able to record.
